What makes Green ArtWorks® different?
We’re not just GREEN & CREATIVE We also promote FOCUS with a welcome relief from Screen Time. Our Workshops invite CONVERSATION and Eco Chats. We’re Social and Socially Responsible bringing a positive social message to be more creative with the resources around us.
Imagine the ECONOMIC benefits of ART through repurposing (never was creativity so economically beneficial). We’re INCLUSIVE and our Workshops can boost confidence through creativity and self-expression. Promotes discussion about wastefulness and resourceful practices while encouraging self expression.
We’re Green
Our handmade creations are composed of repurposed everyday items and materials which you may find in your own recycling bin, your shed or laundry room! We believe in a Minimal environmental footprint using traditional hand crafting techniques to reduce carbon and noise pollution. Astonishingly satisfying and relaxing.
Feel the satisfaction of transforming everyday objects into beautiful pieces of art. Use your hands, your brain and save the planet one soup can at a time !
In our art we use water based paints, plant dyes made from organic waste such as used teabags, no chemicals, very limited use of power tools and no need to drive to purchase materials. We can come to you making it easier for you and reducing carbon footprint and the need to drive.
We’re Creative
Even your Green bin can help with vegetable stamping and coloration. Used teabags make wonderful antique paint effects! Even bathroom and kitchen castoffs – an old sponge can be an excellent paint application tool as can a toothbrush (sterilized of course) for speckling paint. Scraps of leftover giftwrap make wonderful backgrounds for artwork. Create beautiful textured papers from scrunched up tissue paper and overused giftwrap! A wonderful transition into themed art pieces by way of seasonal colour and design. Promotes do-it-yourself projects instead of off the shelf purchases.
We Promote Focus
Break away from electronics and return to creative art and engage that right brain. Imagine the benefits of using hands and imagination to create eco friendly art at little or no cost. Encourages hand eye coordination and focus on detail. Let your imagination flow.
We’re Social & Socially Responsible
Very social – you can chat with your friends or and have fun making new friends during our workshops. Far more interactive than electronics. Talk can lead to creative and ecological discussions and awareness of consequences, social awareness, inclusivity, appreciation and effect of our choices on those around us. We encourage Eco-chat and can offer little lectures, as we work, based on art history and social change.
Positive Social Message
Promotes ecological awareness and discussion about wastefulness and resourceful practices. Encourages a fresh incentive to recycle and repurpose everyday items.
Economic Benefits
Suits all budgets. Our art is made by repurposing existing components and materials, no need to buy materials. Promotes do-it-yourself projects instead of off the shelf purchases. Not just Green but creativity for all at little or no cost.! Appealing and satisfying for everyone regardless of our technical, artistic or economic realities.
Inclusive
Everyone is welcome, from budding artists to first time creators or those not usually drawn to arts and crafts because everyone’s creation is personal and based on a repurposing philosophy. Whether you’re arty, musical, sporty, scholarly, looking for a new interest, this works for anyone wanting to make the most of the objects and materials readily available to us in our everyday lives. Each person will fulfill their own expression of repurposing, so our Workshops offer a good chance of meeting more new faces with a wider range of interests than in a traditional arts and crafts environment.
Confidence Booster
Let your imagination flow and guide you. Expressing yourself and taking pride in your creations and newly found skills can be a great confidence booster. Steer your own creative direction through experimentation in painting, papercraft, collage, appliqué, stitching, wirework, metal shaping and many more mediums.
